The Role of Title IX Coordinators
The University has designated a Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator to oversee compliance with Title IX. The Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator help to provide a safe educational and work environment to students and employees as they provide information about available on- and off-campus resources; explain the University’s grievance and mediation processes; and monitor the University's climate with respect to sexual misconduct.
The Title IX Coordinator will ensure that:
- Support & resources are offered to the Complainant, Respondent, and any witnesses;
- Investigation & adjudication take place in an impartial and timely manner;
- The University community receives training regarding Title IX and the Policy Prohibiting Sexual Misconduct, including reporting and responding to possible incidents of discrimination or sexual harassment;
- Processes have been established to identify and address patterns or systemic problems that may arise during the investigation of a sexual misconduct complaint;
- The University has in place policies and procedures reasonably necessary to foster compliance with Title IX, including, but not limited to grievance procedures for sexual misconduct complaints.
Please note that the Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinators are not confidential resources. Students who wish to keep the information confidential should contact one of the University's confidential resources.
